We have started a section in home school on “Wh” questions – Who, What, Where, When, and Why. Today KG worked on answering “Who . . . ?” She had to choose between three answers for each question. It went like this:
“Who flies an airplane?” I asked. “A farmer, a photographer, or a pilot?” “A pilot,” said KG.
“Who cuts hair?” I asked. “A secretary, a farmer, or a hairdresser?” “A hairdresser,” said KG.
“Who grows food for us to eat?” I asked. “A farmer, a clerk, or a photographer?” “A farmer,” said KG.
We went through the remaining questions with a high rate of success and then came to a quiz at the end. I asked KG the same “Who?” questions without supplying any answers. It went like this:
“Who grows food for us to eat?” I asked. “God!” said KG.
“Who flies an airplane?” I asked. “My daddy!” said KG.
“Who cuts hair?” I asked. “My mommy!” said KG.
I didn’t know quite how to score her. According to the book, those weren’t the right answers. But according to what I know, they were 100% correct!
